The Amazing Priesthood of God

The Savior was able to heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on water, change it to wine, feed five thousand with five loaves and two fishes and countless other miracles during his lifetime.  He passed this ability on to his disciples when he placed his hands on their heads and gave them the power of the Priesthood of God. The Priesthood can work miracles.  If a person has enough faith, anything is possible—anything at all, but, the thing that happens must be in accordance with the laws of nature. 

The way it works is that everything is connected to everything else.  Even the rocks and the dirt, the grasses and the trees are connected to us.  Every living and so-called non living thing is connected to everything else, and it is all connected to the universe.  Heavenly Father and the Savior have the knowledge and the purity to be able to access the realm of the universe that controls the way things move, still in conjunction with the laws of nature;  the fact that they have the purity, and the faith, or will, to make those things happen is in fact, accessing and using the Priesthood. 

The knowledge that we are all connected to each other is a good reason to love everyone.  We are not only connected to everyone, but everything.  We should love ALL life.  Even the earth is alive.   The reason why there have been so many natural disasters is because the earth is at unrest because of all of the impurity in the world—not just the pollution that covers nearly every corner of the earth, but also the impurity, ( or wickedness ), and hatred that exists.  We have the right to take another life in the defense of our own or our children, but we do not have the right to extinguish the life of that soul for money, power, intolerance, revenge, etc.  We should not ever purposely hurt or injure another living thing.  If we do, we should beg for forgiveness from our Father in Heaven.

These truths have been found out in part by many different religions—Buddhists and their belief that we should not harm another living thing and in a very minute part, the whole reincarnation thing is an eternal truth, it’s just been completely misunderstood.  The idea of karma is that what goes around comes around, and that if you do badly to others in this life, your next life will be less than this one.  That is an eternal truth that is based upon the laws of nature with which our universe and all of its untapped realms is ruled by.  Sometimes karma comes back to bite us in the butt sooner than later, but if it’s not now, it will most definitely be in the next life. 

 Native Americans believe that mother earth is alive, and we can anger her by doing things that are not in harmony with nature.  Another spiritual idea is that the earth and every thing and creature are alive and are all connected to each other;  that if the laws of nature are not heeded, the earth (or Mother Nature) will become angry and natural disasters will occur.  There is proof, if one does the required research, that with the increased pollution of the earth, sickness and death spreads, and natural disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes occur.  Also recently, earthquakes, volcanic activity have dramatically increased, in all probability due to the increased wickedness in the world.  Didn’t the earth quake, mountains fall, cities sink into the ocean, and great tempests occur when the literal Son of the living Father in Heaven had his life extinguished by wicked men?

Then there’s string theory, astrology, karma, clairvoyance, premonitions, déjà vu, psychics, antimatter, sixth sense, intuition, fourth realm, and quantum physics--just to mention a few.  All of these things, individually, are eternal truths that have been accessed through the intense will of various philosophers, scientists, and prophets.  However, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has actually been able to access the true power of the Priesthood through the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days through the Prophet Joseph Smith.  There are still many, many parts of the priesthood, and many eternal truths that we are not yet privileged to access at this time, mostly because of the fact that the wickedness that abounds in the world prevents the flow of energy that is required for it to function.  I fully believe that when the Savior returns, the earth is cleansed and all evil is erased from off of the face of the earth, that the fullness of the Gospel can be completely restored; that the natural energy will be able to flow so freely without limits, that many, many powers that we can’t even imagine will be unfolded before us, and many eternal truths will be revealed.  It will no doubt be a euphoric (for lack of a better word) experience to be privileged to live during that time of complete and total restoration.

The Holy Spirit, also known as intuition, or conscience, is directly connected to all of the truths and mysteries of the universe.  He is a member of the Godhead, or one of three spiritual forces working for a singular purpose.  Because he is working in conjunction with Christ and the Father in Heaven, he also bears the Priesthood of God.  The job of the Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, is to testify of all truth.  So, when Albert Einstein discovered the theory of relativity, it was because he received it from the Holy Ghost after working on it and being dedicated to it for so long.  Archimedes’ discovery of weight and water displacement leading to his Eureka moment was made possible through the power of the Holy Ghost.  When doctors seem to have a sixth sense about a specific illness and how to treat it in order to preserve life, it is given to them through the same conduit.  When we pray, and hear an answer in our hearts and minds, that is a direct link that we have been privileged to through the gift and power of the Holy Spirit. 

Some of the things that inhibit the flow of spiritual energy, or universal powers and truths, and that cause sickness, pain, and the groanings of the earth are:

1.  Personal impurity, which includes premarital sex, hatred or mistreatment towards fellow beings or other living things.

2.  The mistreatment of our own bodies.  This includes over eating, over indulgences, gluttony, tattoos, piercings, putting harmful substances into our bodies like caffeine, tobacco, alcohol and other unnecessary chemicals, and the entertaining of unclean and impure thoughts in our minds—not only sexually, but also hatred, gossip and backbiting, intolerance, dogmatism and conceit. 

If we want to be complete partakers of the Priesthood of God and be able to access the full amount of eternal truths in conjunction with the laws of nature through the power of the Holy Spirit, or in other words, if we want daily blessings in our lives and answers to our prayers, then we must practice the highest level of personal purity that we are humanly capable of.  Sometimes that means self control and self denial; but the blessings, or in other words, the gifts of the universe that will be available to us by living that kind of life, will far, far outweigh the miniscule group of things that we deny ourselves. In fact, in the long run, those things will not even be a temptation for us because we will no longer want them.
